What private teaching can offer

A private session allows more time to discuss one participant’s experience and explain movement at an agreed pace. It can be a comfortable setting for discovering the method, understanding equipment and describing your aims in more detail with an instructor.

However, the word private does not guarantee programme quality. Instructor training, clear communication and a coherent lesson plan still matter. Ask whether an introductory conversation is included, how long the session lasts and how the next stage of learning is decided.

Understanding duet and group settings

A duet involves two people learning at the same time. Attending with a friend can feel welcoming, but your experience and expectations may differ. Ask how the instructor handles different levels and paces, and confirm that this format is currently available.

A group usually follows a shared sequence. Its size, level and the instructor’s ability to observe participants matter. Ask for a specific participant number: small group has no single meaning and can describe very different arrangements from one studio to another.

Make the comparison practical

Consider duration, package validity, cancellation rules, language and scheduling alongside the price per visit. A format you can comfortably attend each week may be a better fit than an attractive option with difficult travel or inflexible changes when everyday plans shift.

After an introduction, reflect on where you feel comfortable asking questions and learning. You do not have to keep the same format forever; preferences can develop with experience. When contacting Inspire, separately confirm current availability for private sessions, duets and group classes.
